The standard bearer of the domaine is the Côtes du Rhône Rouge produced from the younger (but not young) vines (average 35 years old) of the estate

It has a crisp texture

but the oak feels more integrated than the initial that I tasted in my previous review of Rioja

airy and slightly fresher nose offers up cool notes of earth

This is dense and intense but there are layers of very fine tannins

The palate takes you through an array of fruit flavours and mocha notes with a toasty, savoury aftertaste. Beautifully balanced, the Gigglepots delicate tannins show restraint allowing the fruit spectrum to shine.
